Refugee Centers in Vranje and Bujanovac, January 7, 2019
In the winter period, when the possibility of staying out is lower due to low temperatures, the premises of Caritas in Bujanovac and Vranje are even more visited. In addition to English language courses for adults, and numerous workshops and playrooms for children, working on a sewing machine is an essential activity for both, women and men in the camp. Caritas procures workshop materials (textile materials, threads, and other) with the support of Caritas Germany. Migrants are also bringing their clothes to repair.
In the winter season, working conditions for Caritas employees in Vranje are more difficult because it is harder to warm the housing container where activities and workshops are implemented. Despite this, beneficiaries do not give up, and they regularly participate in workshops, or coming to socialize with Caritas employees and other migrants.
